The mission of These Numbers Have Faces is to move from fatalistic statistics to identifiable persons. We aim to discern a felt need through relationships and create effective partnerships to provide sustainable opportunity and hope with networks of caring people.

The United Nations Children Fund reports that 30,000 children will die today due to issues of poverty. While these statistics are important, for many people, including us, figures like these are paralyzing and often result with indifference rather than action. These Numbers Have Faces aims to identify individuals and their personal stories in an effort to speak to the larger issues that affect our world.

WE NEED YOUR CONTACTS: who do you know? One of the most amazing things we’ve realized about privilege is that we know people who know people who would be interested in the work of These Numbers Have Faces. Is there anyone you can think of?

WE NEED YOUR SKILLS: we all have em’ and YOU and your skills are vitally important to the work of These Numbers Have Faces. Everything about this organization has been put together by different people with different interests who are all working together for the same cause. What do you do well? Please tell us and we’ll figure out how we can work together.

Are you a student in high school, college, or graduate school? Think about becoming an official These Numbers Have Faces representative for your school. Join our network of campus organizers committed to awareness and fundraising for the community of Gugulethu. Contact us with questions and for more details.

ATHLETICS:
Are you on a sports team or do you have connections with one? Think about your team becoming an official partner team with JL Zwane FC. Hold a mini tournament, sports camp, car wash, or get the parents/sponsors of your team to pledge $1 or even $0.25 for every goal scored or game won. These types of creative fundraisers will be unifying for your team and a momentous help toward providing JL Zwane FC with transportation, basic equipment, or further education.
