Updating Your Wardrobe Without The Cost
Most men are probably not the first to volunteer when it comes to shopping, but admit the truth. Some of the clothes you’re wearing would put you in the fashion victim category. Then again, like the adage says, “Money doesn’t grow on trees.” So if your wardrobe needs updating, but you don’t have the money to do it, consider the following options.
The Classic White T
Chances are you don’t have to look deep into your closet to find a white t-shirt. Don’t rule them out as too plain. The classic white shirt never goes out of style.
Old Pair of Jeans
You may have a favorite pair of jeans tucked somewhere or just a pair that looks a little worn out or faded. Don’t throw them away just yet. The distressed jeans or worn-out look is back in style. As long as you fit in them and there are no unseemly rips and tears, they’re good to go.
The Leather Jacket
Come on. You know you have one. Dust it out and see if it fits. Wear it with the classic white shirt and the worn out jeans, and you might just be mistaken for James Dean…if you pop up the collar, hitch a finger into the front belt loop, lean on a wall, and pout.
The Polo
Long sleeve polo shirts are not just for the office or Sunday mornings anymore. Leave the top button open, roll up the sleeves to just before your elbow, and you have a clean cut, yet casual look.
Forgotten Dress Shoes
Take a look at your shoe rack and find the pair of dress shoes you never wear even if they still fit. A good shine and polish are all they really need to find their way back onto your feet.
Don’t be hasty about the almost forgotten articles of clothing and accessories in your closet. Take them out and try them on. If something works, go for it. If something doesn’t work, you can always donate it. By the way, if you happen to find a pair of leather jeans, don’t even try putting them on. Just move along…
