Recently I was enjoying a television program when a commercial came on that featured former Presidents’ Bush and Clinton. They were delivering the message that we live in a dangerous time in which our enemies want to harm our country. They encouraged us to prepare ahead of time for any attack by having a survival kit prepared.

As I listened to this commercial, I was reminded that the Bible also gives us similar warnings. We as men are constantly under attack. Our enemy wants to destroy our integrity. One of the chief weapons he uses to attack us is sexual temptation. We live in a culture that is obsessed with sensuality and sex. We as men need to have our survival kit ready in order to withstand the attack and retain our integrity. What exactly should this kit contain? I have compiled a checklist for you to use.
1. A Bible for renewing our minds
2. Kneepads for prayer.
3. A remote control to change the channel on our tv.
4. A pair of running shoes.
Wait a minute! What are the running shoes for?

The answer is simple. The Bible constantly tells us that the best way to resist sexual temptation is to run away from it. It is the only temptation in the entire Bible that we are not told to resist. Instead we are constantly told in the Bible to flee from sexual temptations. We are even given the example of Joseph running away from Mrs. Potiphar’s advances. Any time the Bible gives a command concerning sexual temptation, we are told to flee. So the next time the enemy throws a temptation at you in order to destroy your integrity, lace your sneakers up tight, be a real man, and run away as fast as you can.
