The 80’s are defiantly making a comeback when it comes to making movies this year. Both Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are given new life on the big screen in 2007. So what is next from the 80’s vault? There has already been talk of a G.I. Joe movie.
Just for fun here is a fantasy casting of G.I. Joe the Movie.

Duke – Mark Wahlberg

There are already rumors out there that Wahlberg has been offered the role. I like the casting choice. His roles in “Shooter” and “The Departed” show he has what it takes to be the field leader and leading man of G.I. Joe.

Snake-Eyes – Ray Park

As seen in “Star Wars Episode I” and “X-Men”, Ray Park is an actor who doesn’t seem to mind covering his face for a role. His Kung-Fu is strong and would be a perfect choice to play the Joe’s resident ninja.

Scarlett - Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich, model turned action star. Her roles in “Ultraviolet” and the “Resident Evil” movies shows she is in good shape to play G.I. Joe’s leading lady.

Roadblock - Michael Clarke Duncan

I know Michael Clarke Duncan gets typecast for these roles but he really is the perfect fit. Roadblock is also a cook and Duncan’s big smile will certainly add to that part of the character.

Cobra Commander - Willem Dafoe

If you can remember Cobra Commander’s voice from the cartoon you know that Dafoe will be awesome for this role. He’s done the villain behind a mask thing before so playing this part would be a cinch for Dafoe.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DestroGerardButler.jpg

Destro - Gerard Butler

When it comes to casting Destro many people would jump and name Vin Diesel or Billy Zane simply because they are bald.
Destro is a Scotsman so it would seem fitting to have a Scotsman play him.
Gerry Butler has the strong voice to get passed that steel mask. He is also another actor who doesn’t mind working behind a mask, as seen in “Phantom of the Opera.”

Baroness – Jessica Biel

Not too long ago Jessica Biel complained about not getting the good roles. With a chance to play a villain it may help her add some diversity to her profile.

Storm Shadow - Takeshi Kaneshiro

Takeshi Kaneshiro is best known to American audiences for his role in “House of Flying Daggers.” In that movie he certainly demonstrated that he can work in an action film. His role in the upcoming film “The Battle of Red Cliff” fortifies that.
