In "1948" bean bag toss began to appear from urban streets to county fairs. These wooden boxes and bean bags were fun because the game had many of the characteristics of basketball, horseshoes, softball, and shuffle board. Bean bag toss has come a long way since then and now has professional tournaments, official rules and custom made game kits. “Baggo, as it is called today has taken the nation by storm and a pretty large amount of supporting businesses have followed it. Only in America, can we take some bean bags, and a wooden box and make it into a competitive sport. Here is how to play.
To Set up…place Baggo boards across from each other.

Tournament Play
In doubles, team partners face each other from opposite boards. Each team plays with 4 bags and opponents alternate tosses until all 8 bags are thrown. The round is then scored…
3 points for each bag in the hole (That’s a BAGGO®!)
1 point for each bag on the board is an Ace
Score is the difference in the team totals
Winner is first team to score 21 points (you must hit exactly 21, if you go over…you go back to 13)
For example:
After 1 round of 8 bags played,
#1 team with 1 bag in the hole = 3 points
#2 team with 2 bags on the board = 2 points
Score for the 1st round for #1 team = 1 point
Score for the 1st round for #2 team = 0 points
The Toss…There are multiple strategies for tossing the bag, here are a few
“The Chicago Fold
Hold the corner of the bag, let the filling/particulate drop to the bottom, fold in half and then fold in half again
“Half Paducah Pancake
Smooth out the bag, fold in half and toss underhand
“Sacramento SlingHold the bag by a corner between two fingers and toss underhand
“Frisco Fling Hold the bag in the middle of one side, let the filling/particulate drop to the bottom, and toss underhanded with the top of hand upright
