I just got done reading Erwin McManus's "Soul Cravings Yet another great read, everything that I've read by him has been amazing. So go pick up a copy and read it. Very much worth your while, especially if you have many questions about God and you are seeking a truth. Check it out

But in the aftermath of reading Soul Cravings and now contemplating my future with my future wife, God has kind of been working on me in very different ways. Most of my close friends are aware that I'm somewhat of a visionary. Often times I cook things up in my head and in my heart, and I honestly have no idea where they come from. I'm always like 3 months ahead in dreaming and 2 weeks behind in organizing. It's me!
I was eating lunch today with my good buddy Shaun Caudill pastor of South Campbellsville Baptist church, and I was basically just pouring out some of my dreams and visions to him, wondering if these are just desires and hopes or are they really from God?

That’s a very good question. I know in the circle of friends that I run with, we have often dreamed about doing great Things for God. Piecing things together, brainstorming and being creative. In all honesty many of these things we've talked about as friends probably wont' happen, but the fact of the matter is that dreams do something to us. The invite and encourage.... hope.

. By a man that’s afraid to step out of the boat. A bill that hangs over your shoulder, a family situation that destines you to be in the same loop of failure. These dream leeches are all around us...eating our hope.

When hope fails, things go very very wrong. We become a people of the past. Since we have nothing to look forward to, we live in the past. All of our joys, all of our good times, all of our achievements now are engraved in time and rotting in a closet inside of a box of yesterday.

But every now and then,,,, something happens. You close your eyes, you dream...and you are reminded of the things of yesteryear, how you know your best days surely have not come. Surely the best things in life aren't in a box on the shelf, rotting away. And as you open your eyes to live that dream. To put you in the highway of achieving it.... the leeches come. They come to steal, they come to paralyze; they come to chain you to the box in the closet. But what will you do? Where will you go?

Hey...a little dreaming never hurt anybody. And the truth is destiny is born in dreams. God places eternity in our hearts. And if eternity is in our hearts, surely to goodness that includes the next five years. Includes your future wife or husband. Includes your children. Your passions. Your loves. You ministry. Your job, YOU.
God assures you of one thing with placing dreams in your life that hope is there for us. God is going to use us and he is going to propel us into the future.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. God wants us to have hope. He wants us to have dreams. So my question to Shaun was this; is this just dreaming or is it God's will? His answer, which was profound, is this. Just give it time and you'll see. So my conclusion is this......what’s the harm in a little dreaming?
