How to Wear Pink:

I don’t care what other people say, but my favorite color is pink. So what was my reaction when I first saw a guy in pink? My eyes popped out! Then my head turned and followed that guy as he walked away from me, and all the while I was thinking, “Whoa…right on!

Pink may be as girly as you can get, but fashion, as I see it, is not merely crossing borders, but tearing them down. Women wear pants. Men wear pink. Well, some men wear pink. If you’re feeling fashion daring and want to accessories yourself in pink, or another “girly color, here are three ideas to start you off.

Dress Shirts and Polos
By far, the easiest way to wear pink is with a dress shirt or polo. You can pick them up at any department store. Pair up a pink dress shirt with black, gray, or khaki trousers and you’re ready to hit the office. Also wear the dress shirt under your suit to make your outfit become more vibrant (and less stuffy).

For casual Fridays or any casual day, wear a pink polo. Wear it with trousers or jeans. Wear it tucked or un-tucked. Wear it in the office or the golf course.

Ties
Another easy way to accessorize this color is with ties. Pair a solid color pink tie with a white dress shirt and you would be safe. Striped ties also work nicely. Wear a pink tie with your suit. Just think Donald Trump on this outfit. To help you out, a full outfit would include: a pink tie, white dress shirt, dark suit, white socks, and dress shoes. Oh, and don’t forget the cologne. A pink tie has also been paired with a pink dress shirt, but if you are unsure of which shades to go with, buy the shirt and tie that comes in a set.

T-shirts
This is the easiest outfit to put together because it is almost just throwing clothes on. However, this may be the hardest look to pull off mainly because you can choose the wrong shirt. Plain pink shirts are safe. Pink shirts that say, “Tough guys wear pink may be funny. Pink shirts with flowers (and are tailored for guys) could land you a spot in “That 70s Show. Pink shirts that say, “Hot Stuff should just be avoided. Pick the right shirt, and simply pair it with jeans. For a little more coverage, slip on a blazer. The “jeans, shirt, blazer, and sneakers look is casual yet stylish; mature yet youthful.

Pink is not just for women anymore. Shake up your wardrobe by adding this color. If you don’t feel so daring, try clothing with only touches of pink instead of the whole effect. For the more daring, think like Bill Clinton and wear pink with blue. Some may say that pink is still “girly or it’s too soft, but there is one thing for sure: you would be turning heads (well, you’ll turn my head).
