What it is ::

In March 2005, the time was 6:07 to be exact; the airwaves in Atlanta, GA were changed forever. Cory Condrey, p.k.a. “CoCo Brother”, was hosting one of Atlanta’s top hip hop shows from 6pm – 10 pm on WHTA (Hot 107.9 FM); when a young lady called in to say that she was going to commit suicide. At that divine moment, radio was used for its’ “true” purpose – “To Be the Voice of The People”. As a result, a shift took place in the hearts of the listeners as Atlanta paused; listeners pulled over and CoCo Brother stops the music and begins to listen to the young lady. People began calling in and making donations to assist with her issue; ultimately saving her life. Thus the dawning of a NEW DAY…The Day Hip Hop Changed forever….

Hip Hop is a Cultural Experience! Hip Hop is not just music; it’s a lifestyle embodying finance, fashion, attitude and spirituality! The Spirit of Hip Hop promotes positive lifestyle choices, which embrace family, community and culture. Hip Hop transcends gender, social-economic status and ethnicity, therefore providing a platform for change. The mission of “The Spirit of Hip Hop” is the Great Commission, which states, “Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you”. It is a non-judgmental movement that is dedicated to being the positive voice of Hip Hop through: saving souls, promoting positive lifestyle choices and connecting our generation to Jesus Christ.

Spearheaded by one of the most dynamic, energetic, fresh young personalities in radio today, Cory “CoCo Brother” Condrey, The Spirit of Hip Hop is in a category by itself. By fusing two different genres of music, Hip Hop and gospel, The Spirit of Hip Hop has birthed a sound that is positive, fresh and relevant to society today. Not only has The Spirit of Hip Hop birthed a sound, it has also managed to take the airwaves and develop it into a movement; a movement that is destined to take the World by storm.

When Coco Brother arrived in Atlanta to take over the 6p.m.-10p.m. Hip Hop show, he did exactly that….he took over and quickly became the #1 rated show in the Atlanta area! During that time slot, Coco would always end his show with prayer where his in-studio guests would be included. National recording artists and celebrities such as Lil’ Kim, 50 Cents, David Banner, Bone Crusher and P. Diddy could be heard on the airwaves giving thanks to GOD for the blessings in their lives. The artists could be heard praying for guidance as they continue to walk toward righteousness in the eyes of GOD! See, what’s so new and fresh about the Spirit of Hip Hop is that it’s a non-judgmental movement that accepts people for who they are; yet willing to show them a better way. It’s a movement that will bring the Hip Hop community closer together by promoting lifestyle choices. This is something that the streets have never seen.

Since making the switch to Sunday morning, CoCo Brother has continued to take the show to the next level. Within 1 year the show has gone from Sundays 7am – 10am; to 6 am – 10 am; to 6 am – 12 pm; Monday – Friday 5am – 6am and now nationwide syndication. The Spirit of Hip Hop reaches an audience of over 10 million listeners. Everyday, Souls are being saved, Lives are being changed and a Generation is being restored. So Thanks for making the switch to a Positive Lifestyle, a New Beginning, a Movement of Saving Souls, Souls, Souls.

I AM The Spirit of Hip Hop……
