As the Christmas season quickly approaches, we all begin to get in the holiday spirit. We pull out the Christmas movies and music to help get us in the spirit. This year, there is a new Christmas CD guaranteed to add to the festiveness of your holiday season. Third Day’s newest, Christmas Offerings, is a must add to your holiday music collection.

This latest release form one of the most successful groups in the history of Christian music offers something to everyone who listens to it. From newer versions of traditional holiday hymns to the four original songs on this album, everyone can enjoy what Third Day brings to the table. Included on this album is their rocking version of “Do You Hear What I Hear?, previously released on the WOW Christmas CD. Other classics include: Silent Night, O Holy Night, Angels We Have Heard On High, What Child Is This?, The First Noel, Away in a Manger, and Joy to the World.

The album starts off with an amazing, praise-like version of O Come All Ye Faithful, which lifts the soul into a spirit of praise for the coming of the Lord. The second track is the aforementioned version of Do You Hear What I Hear?. The album features an incredible version of Silent Night, a song perfect for Mac Powell’s voice. This album offers new versions of traditional hymns that can liven up the Christmas season at your church as well. The new songs, all powerful and deeply meaningful, as destined to become holiday classics for a new generation. The new songs include: Born in Bethlehem, Jesus, Light of the World, Christmas Like A Child, and Merry Christmas. The album closes with the song Merry Christmas, written by Brad Avery, which will make you look at the holiday a little differently this year. Each song on this album has that unmistakable Third Day feel to it, from the acoustic songs to the rockers, reminiscent of songs like Consuming Fire, Come on Back to Me, and Come Together.

Third Day sticks to its’ roots on this Christmas album, not only musically but also spiritually. Instead of singing secular Christmas classics about Santa Claus and flying reindeer, Third Day sticks to songs that speak of the true reason that we celebrate Christmas, which is a testament to the depth of their faith. This year, you can stuff your loved one’s stockings with something that will truly enhance their Christmas season and lead them to the true reason for our celebrations…worshipping God and praising Him for sending His Son.
