Put yourself in the summers of the 60’s and 70’s. Lounging on the beach with your friends during summer vacation from high school. Swimming, surfing, beach ball, and dancing around a fire to the latest hit on the radio. Now I may have seen one too many classic movies but we all know that there are those few tunes tailored to beach fun. Most of them are the classics. The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and the others made their way into the fun image of a classic beach party.
When someone thinks of incredibly fun Christian music, they generally can’t think of many artists. Relient K, P.O.D., and Switchfoot are excellent but they can all be found outside of the Christian section of the CD racks. They’re all mainstream. Which, in the terms of Christian music is a good thing. It takes the message to all. Paul Wright is the new Beach Boy for our age and not to mention Christian music and yet still appeals to the grassroot indie movement.
His latest release, Sunrise to Sunset, is one of the better CD’s I own. Very rarely will I put in a CD and listen to every song beginning to end. Usually if I’m not ‘feeling it’ I’ll skip to the next song, as I’m sure we all do. Paul Wright seems to get that. He’ll hook you with a catchy beat, guitar cord, or lyric. As with all CD’s, some songs are better than others. Walking on Water, a song about a girl surfer without a care, has you moving from the very beginning. Come Around, Acoustic Rhymes, and Heaven are a few of the other notable songs.
Nobody can perfectly describe music in writing. So go pick up the CD and take your family and friends down to the beach. Be it the lake, the ocean or the concrete siding of the community pool, this CD is definitely suited for summertime fun.

I likes the article. Good job Chad! By the way, did you ever finish that book? I'd like to read the finished copy.
