The Idea
Prodigal Son Magazine is a dynamic men's portal site for men of integrity. It aims to be a cornerstone for Christian men, a place for men after God's heart to find informative, relevant, cutting edge information on lifestyle, relationships, career, pop culture and their walk with God.
The GoalThe goal of Prodigal Son Magazine is to become a community of men that are willing to take a journey of discovering and excavating truth, just as it is, naked, raw and often difficult.
The AuthorsThis magazine is a READER DRIVEN magazine, as you will notice most of the articles are by men just like you and me, not professional authors or doctors, but real guys dealing with real everyday issues.
The CommunityWe are not associated with any particular denomination. We exist only to start a conversation amongst men. Christian, Non-Christian, Jewish, Catholic etc. Chew on it, wrestle with it, disagree with it, or add to it.
We want you to be part of this profound movement, as we question, probe, test, reveal and question again the foundation of our walk with God and the daily way we live our life.
The Reality We are all Prodigal Sons, living in this paradox of God's masterpiece and Satan's battleground, lost and often separated from our brothers and fathers. It is time that we band together, tear down the walls, spit out the spoons that feed us, and discover our own holy nature, one we are so passionate about, it actually changes the way we live.Editor's dedication:
This magazine is dedicated to my father Don Wenell, who celebrated his 2+ year victory over cancer. May 1st, 2003 he was diagnosed with severe lung cancer which had spread through his entire body and was given a life sentence of 6-9 months. Through prayer and faith in healing from God, he has celebrated two grandkid's births, his son's wedding and will soon see his oldest daughter finish med school. He has passed down a legacy of how to be a good father, husband and friend. I pray that this website reflects the principles and values by which this man lives. He has been the open arms that have welcomed this prodigal son back time and time again. I pray that this magazine will give men all over the world some daily bread crumbs of God's work and remind us of how much he really loves his sons.
(Update: Don Wenell passed away Sept. 1st, 2005, the same morning that Prodigal Son Magazine launched. He praised God with his last breath, and we sang praise songs as he entered the promised land)
